I am a mother. Five times over. Three boys, two girls—four earthside and one forever in my heart. Motherhood has been my greatest joy, my toughest battle, and my deepest purpose. It’s been the reason I wake up each morning, the reason I push through exhaustion, the reason I chase my dreams with everything I have.

It’s easy to say that being a mom changes you, but it truly does. It shifts your soul. It teaches you patience you didn’t know you had, strength you never imagined, and a love so fierce it could move mountains. My journey has been filled with every emotion imaginable—laughter that echoes through my home, tears spilled in the quiet of the night, and moments that remind me just how fleeting time really is.

I’ve watched my oldest step into adulthood, carrying pieces of his childhood with him, while I rock my youngest in the stillness of the night, knowing all too well how fast these moments will pass. I homeschool my babies, pouring my heart into their learning, their growth, their understanding of the world. It’s not always easy, and some days feel heavier than others, but every single moment—every giggle, every question, every ‘Mama, look at me!’—is worth it.

And then, there’s the part of my heart that will always ache. My sweet baby girl, Maité. October will mark three years since she left my arms, but not a single day goes by that I don’t feel her presence. Losing a child changes you in ways you can’t put into words. It makes you hold onto your other babies just a little tighter, savor the little things a little more. It teaches you that love never fades, that grief is just love with nowhere to go, and that some pain will always live within you—but so will the memories, the love, and the unbreakable bond that time can never erase.

Motherhood is not just about the big milestones. It’s about the moments in between—the tiny fingers wrapping around yours, the sleepy sighs as they drift off in your arms, the way they look at you like you are their whole world. It’s about the messes, the chaos, the long nights, and the deep, all-consuming love that makes every single challenge worth it.

Through it all—the laughter, the struggles, the heartache, and the joy—I wouldn’t change a thing. My children are my greatest purpose, my deepest love, and the reason I wake up every day determined. Because if there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s this: Time moves fast, moments slip away, and love is the one thing that stays forever.

So here’s to the journey. To the moments, both big and small. To the love that never fades. And to the mamas, like me, who know that even on the hardest days, this is the most beautiful adventure we’ll ever take. 💛✨
